Spring is Here

We had a lovely Spring walk in Merlin Woods last week. It was a lovely sunny day as we went in search of signs of spring. We found wriggly worms, daffodils, lots of buds on the trees, birds building nests and singing from the tree tops. It was lovely to get some fresh air and exercise too :)

 

 

 

 

 

Pancake Tuesday & Love is in the Air :)

 

We learned how to make yummy pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. We sequenced the pictures the way we could help mum & dad to make them at home. 
Múinteoir Annmarie made us some pancakes to taste and add our favourite topping- delicious :)

 

 

Clay Pot Candle Holders

 Here we are working very carefully painting our clay pots. We made the pots by pinching the clay and shaping it into a nice pot shape with our fingers. We left them to dry for a few days before painting them and adding our candle. We hope our Mammies & Daddies like our special presents :)

 

 

 

Valentines Day:

Love was in the air on Wednesday in Junior Infants. We made a special effort to be nice to all our friends, the teachers and our families. We made lovely valentines cards for our families to tell them we love them very much. Múinteoir Annmarie was so impressed with our fabulous writing. :)

 

 

Friday 2nd February

Junior Infants are working hard learning all their sight words, letter sounds and handwriting. We can wait to start our reading books next month. Here you can see us having fun during Literacy stations. :)

 

 

 

 

 

I Scream, You Scream- We all scream for ICE-CREAM :) Junior Infants got a really "cool" treat today for getting all their stars * 

 

 

 

Hurling & getting active for 10@10

We were so excited to start hurling with our fabulous coach Gerry today. We practised lots of different hurling drills and we even managed to hit some balls with our hurls. We can't wait for next week already. Hurling will run every Thursday for Junior Infants until Easter.

 

 

 

 

 

 


As part of the Operation Transformation initiative, we have been getting active in our classroom for 10 minutes each day.

 

We love our activity breaks :)
