Autumn Fun in Junior Infants

We have had such fun learning all about Autumn over the past two weeks.
What better way to learn about the seasons and autumn than to take a trip to Merlin Woods on a nature walk. We collected some leaves, twigs, nuts and even spotted some blackberries. We had a great time.

We learned all about hedgehogs- what they eat, where they live and how they hibernate for the winter. Some children even made hedgehogs using play-dough!
The farmers are very busy harvesting all the fruit and vegetables during the autumn months. We learned the song "Dingle Dangle Scarecrow" and made our own fabulous scarecrows to scare away the crows!

SPHE- Dina School
We had very special visitors to our class on Monday. This was Wally and Dina. Wally loves when we show 5 & follow the classroom rules- Looking eyes, Listening ears, Quiet hands, Quiet Feet and Quiet Lips. Dina tole us these rules help us to learn better in school. We have been trying really hard to follow his rules this week. Wally will be helping us to make friends, share, problem solve and lots of other fun things. We look forward to seeing lots of Wally this year.

Irish:
We love learning all our Irish Songs & Rhymes. Check us out singing "Mise an Traein" below!

Maths:
We are continuing to learn about patterns all around us. We also have been learning about shapes- circle, square, rectangle and triangle! We love playing our maths games with our friends.

DEAR Time: Drop Everything & Read

We love reading our library books everyday.

We had lots of fun playing "Guess Who" with our baby pictures and talking about how much we have grown since we were babies. Can you guess who we are???
