Friday 24th November

Library Time: Every Friday we visit our school library. We love reading the lovely stories & choosing one to read at home with our families.

Our Aistear theme of  the House & Home is in full flow. The children have been making marvellous houses, castles, igloos, boat houses etc. We are very lucky to have gotten new toys for our role play area- we can practise hoovering, ironing, baking etc. It's hard work looking after our house!!! :)

Wally & Dina came to visit again this week. Wally was  very impressed with all the boys & girls. He reminded us about our classroom rules and our special listening ears.

We planted daffodil bulbs this week too. We know that flowers need water, air, sunlight, soil and space to grow. We picked a spot on the windowsill for our pots & we water them every few days. Lets hope they grow  :)

We loved playing our instruments to some of the songs for our Christmas play. We are like a real band. It was great fun.

Water Week Activities

This week is "Water Week" in Merlin Woods. We have been busy carrying out experiments such as floating and sinking, testing materials to see if they are waterproof, learning about the water cycle, animals that live in the water and we also found out that 70% of our bodies is made up of water! Wow!

We took part in our "Walk for Water" on Wednesday. Here we are with our buddies from 6th class.
